Beyonce's Stylist Ty Hunter Talks GRAMMY Looks

Klaudia//January 29, 2014
Aside from Pharrell’s Vivienne Westwood hat, all eyes were on Beyonce at the 2014 Grammy Awards. From Her ultra sexy La Perla Spring 2013 performance number to her white sheer Michael Costello fishnet gown, Bey stole the show. That sexy wet performance will not soon be forgot. Those moves and looks were perfection.

But it’s no surprise that Queen Bey stunned at the show. She is one of the best-dressed ladies in music with famed stylist Ty Hunter behind her dazzling outfits. Fresh off styling Bey for the Grammys, Ty caught up with us to give his take on her Grammy look and reveal her favorite fashion item.

Billboard: What inspired the opening look? Was there a specific image or person you looked to?

Hunter: The style team—comprised of Raquel Smith and Timothy White (Karen Langley helped with the performance outfit)—wanted to emulate the video with a different spin. Kim Kimble did her hair, but it was all coming from the “Drunk In Love” video. Just trying to bring an even more sophisticated look to the stage.

We love the wet hair. Why did you choose this wet look?

The style team wanted to go for sexy and elegant.
