Beyonce admits blowing snot bubbles on stage

Klaudia//July 15, 2011
Beyonce yesterday admitted blowing snot bubbles and sweating too much when she’s on stage. The 29-year-old singer told ITV: “My nose runs a lot and when I’m singing I can’t blow it, so there have been occasions when I’ve ended up with a ‘bubble’ coming out my nose.” She went on: “Everyone thinks I have the fans (wind machines) because I’m being fashionable, but I work so hard on stage if I didn’t have them I’d be dripping.” The former Destiny’s Child singer also confessed to not liking parts of her body, saying: “If I could change one part it would be my feet. After all the years dancing they’re a little beat up. And I wear big earrings because I don’t like my ears.” She also admitted wearing four pairs of stockings to prevent “unflattering” pictures and “keep me secure on stage” in the interview for a show which is expected to be screened in December.

Beyonce's back bigger than ever

Klaudia//June 25, 2011
Some might consider 29 a little young to start worrying about their epitaph, but not Beyonce Knowles. The US singer's contribution to music - long after she dies - has weighed heavily on her mind, particularly with her 30th birthday just months away in September. "I feel that it's important that I start shaping my legacy and doing things that have a little more substance," Beyonce says. "I want people to think when they listen to my music. I want it to help them through their painful memories, their painful moments, their most happy moments. I want it to bring out that happiness." Not that the pop superstar should worry about her mark on the music world. She has sold in excess of 75 million albums and, in the process, has become one of the highest-selling singers ever. After a year off work, Beyonce is well and truly back with her new album, 4, and a headline performance tonight at the Glastonbury music festival in the UK. She'll also spend the coming months heavily promoting 4. Behind the scenes, Beyonce says she has found an inner peace, relishing the fact that time out has helped establish a better perspective on work and life. A self-confessed workaholic, Beyonce enjoyed not being on the clock, setting her own schedule. "Taking time off was probably the best year of my life. I never thought I would say that because I love my job and I still worked. I can't help myself. I recorded 70 songs for my album but I did it on my own time. "I didn't have any labels or any human telling me what I should be doing," she says. "I was able to spend time with my family and pick my nephew up from school and sleep in my bed. I'm so happy I've done it and now I've learned that it's just necessary to have that time to yourself. "I am hopefully going to continue to have the balance." Starting as one third of the hugely successful girl group Destiny's Child, Beyonce has come a long way. She has 16 Grammy Awards to her name, with solo hits including Single Ladies, Halo and If I Were A Boy.

Beyoncé To Appear on 'Piers Morgan Tonight'

Klaudia//June 21, 2011
Beyoncé's world press tour continues with a stop in the United Kingdom. British television journalist Piers Morgan announced via Twitter that the Texas singer will talk with him next week in the city of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Morgan launched his stateside MSNBC show "Piers Morgan Tonight" earlier this year and he's also hosted sit-down interviews with other heavy-hitters including Oprah Winfrey. "She’s agreed to sit with me for the hour and talk about everything," Morgan tweeted on Monday (June 20). "She’s beautiful, phenomenally talented and at the top of her game. "And even better, we’re doing it in my hometown of London," he continued. "She has a one-word name, a voice from the gods … and the single greatest ‘booty’ in showbiz history. Yep … Beyoncé. World exclusive, for the hour. That’s why I’m excited.” We're not sure what Beyoncé's husband Jay-Z might have to say about Morgan's appreciation for Bey's hind parts but the show is slated to air June 27 on MSNBC.

Beyonce: What my mother taught me

Klaudia//June 20, 2011
Beyonce Knowles, 29, is one of the world's top female singing stars with worldwide sales of more than 80million records. She hit the big-time with her group, Destiny's Child, then as a solo artist. She has starred in hit films such as Austin Powers In Goldmember, The Pink Panther and Dreamgirls and has donated millions to charitable causes, including Haiti's earthquake victims and widows of New York police and fire services after 9/11. Beyonce, who married rapper Jay-Z in 2008, releases her fourth studio album, simply called 4, on Monday, June 27 after headlining at Glastonbury the day before. Here, she talks to Garth Pearce about what her mother taught her. 'My mum, Tina, taught me honesty. As a result, I tell the truth. If I can't tell the truth for some reason or other, then I don't say anything. She also taught me, by example, the value of hard work. She worked in a bank and saved enough money to open her own hair salon called Headliners. Very early on, she was telling me to be who I wanted to be. So I wanted to be a hair stylist for a while. Then a dance teacher. When I was seven, I performed on stage for the first time and fell in love with the feeling. I was awkward around other kids, but felt comfortable on stage. I said to my mum: "There is no way this will work but I am going to be a singer." I was in a group, aged nine, and my dad, Mathew, left his job to manage us. He's done a great job - but it was difficult then. We lost money. We had to sell our house and move into a small place and my mum supported the whole family. I was a kid but they argued a lot and, at one point, separated. It was hurtful to know they had such stress. But my mum did not keep anything from us and she was as honest with me as she expected me to be with her. She made me understand who I am and what I want, while giving us all unconditional love. She also taught me to be forgiving. My mum had kept all her clothes from the Sixties but when I was about six I started playing with matches. I managed to burn down one of the rooms in the house with all those clothes. She was more concerned for my safety than the room or the possessions.

ELLE Exclusive: Beyoncé’s New Scent

Klaudia//June 16, 2011
With a new album, 4, on the brink of release, and a European tour starting next week, one would think Beyoncé’s metallic-Minx’d hands are too full to juggle anything else, but she’s been hard at work on another number: three, as in her third fragrance. “Women always tell me that my music makes them feel strong and confident, and Pulse is about finding that inner power,” the singer, a 16-time Grammy winning, Golden Globe nominated actress, said about her newest creation, Pulse, a floral citrus scent hitting stores in September. ELLE got the exclusive scoop on the juice, its fierce ad campaign and what gets the megastar’s pulse racing.

ELLE: Your first fragrance, Heat, was a huge success. Did you feel any pressure following that up?
BK: I didn’t. The success of Heat was amazing, but why not represent a different side of a woman? Pulse represents the woman I am on stage. When I think about excitement, it makes me think about my heart racing and a pulsating beat—it’s my stage persona. Heat represents my sensual side, it’s very spicy and Southern. Heat Rush is more about the woman I am on my off time, when I’m on vacation.

ELLE: You’ve been performing your whole life. Does your heart really still race when you get on stage?
BK: Performing at the Billboard Music Awards and on the Oprah farewell show made me so nervous! My heart was pounding out of my chest. But it’s amazing how that nervousness never goes away—it’s my natural response to something exciting and fresh and inspiring. It’s just like when you’re in a relationship. It’s not good when your pulse stops racing. That means you’ve got to spice it up.

Beyoncé: The Billboard Music Awards Q&A

Klaudia//May 12, 2011
In the next chapter of her career, Beyoncé certainly seems dedicated to breaking new ground. It takes guts for one of the world's biggest pop stars to release such a stridently unconventional single as the militaristic, beat-driven "Run the World (Girls)," built around a freaky sample from relatively obscure indie favorites Major Lazer's club hit, "Pon de Floor." That's just the first salvo in the unexpected collage of sonic textures and unique song structures on her new album, which features edgy new collaborators like Switch (who makes up half of Major Lazer) along with established hitmakers like The-Dream. "There's nothing safe about it, I know that much," says The-Dream, who cowrote Beyoncé's career-redefining anthem, "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," and was called in to help pen the new album's lead single. "That would never happen with any other artist of her stature, male or female." It's a sentiment Beyoncé seems keenly aware of herself. "I feel like my job in the industry is to push the limits, and I have to constantly evolve," Beyoncé explains of her new direction, while she's being chauffeured from a photo shoot on Long Island to a Manhattan recording studio for a meeting with the new creative team she's assembled. This independent woman, rounding the corner to the big 3-0 this year, happily married to Jay-Z, has taken the reins of her career like never before, and she wants it known that she is the one calling the shots. Her forthcoming solo album, "4," was made this past year without the guidance of Matthew Knowles, her father and longtime manager. She announced on March 28 this year that the two parted ways "on a business level." Raising a clenched fist on the cover of her new single, "Run the World (Girls)," Beyoncé clearly transmits her trademark message of female empowerment. In this exclusive first interview about her next phase, the star took a look ahead at the thrilling new sounds and creative endeavors in store for her, while also reminiscing about the many milestones along the way that have earned her Billboard's Millennium Award.

Beyonce lauds mom despite differences

Klaudia//May 4, 2011
Beyonce Knowles often argues with her mother. The ‘Halo’ hitmaker – who recently fired her father Mathew Knowles as her manager – loves working with Tina Knowles on their House of Dereon clothing line but the singer admits she and her stylist parent don't always see eye-to-eye. She said: “It does get difficult sometimes. My mother and I work so well together and we agree. Well 99 per cent of the time. And the one per cent? We’re human. And sometimes we go back and forth but it never lasts. “ Despite their occasional disagreements, Beyonce – who is married to Jay-Z - is pleased she can leave her business in the hands of her mother. She added in an interview with more! magazine: “I’m lucky because I can leave and I know everything’s going to be fine and great because my mother’s there taking care of everything.” After firing her father in March, Beyonce paid tribute to the role he and her mother played in her success. She said: “I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother manage me and own their own businesses. They are hard working entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps. “He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me.”
