Beyoncé honored with 2011 Billboard Millennium Award
As if 16 Grammy’s were not enough, Beyoncé will now add the 2011 Billboard Millennium Award to her trophy case. The pop culture icon will be presented with the award at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 22. The awards are being hosted live by Ken Jeong and will feature other performing artists such as The Black Eyed Peas, Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj, Cee Lo Green, Rhianna, Lady Antebellum, Pitbull and Taio Cruz. Beyoncé helped establish one of the most successful girl groups in history as a front woman of Destiny’s Child. She has gone on to earn titles as a multi-platinum performer and ASCAP’s Pop Songwriter of the Year. She has released three solo albums and is working on her fourth, with the single “Run the World (Girls)” having already hit airwaves. In 2009, Beyoncé was named the Woman of the Year by Billboard and Top Female Artist of the Decade. The awards show airs Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
