Beyoncé is back.

At the dawn of a new Renaissance, Beyoncé is gearing up for her next evolution, one that reaffirms her unparalleled influence with an audacious ascent to new limits. ”So many things have changed in the past decade,” she says.

Ten years after first covering CR in 2014 and hot on the heels of her act ii and newly-launched hair-care line Cécred, the inimitable global superstar returns to the pages of CR Fashion Book with Carine Roitfeld and JAWARA in honor of her next big move.

“As long as I can remember, I’ve been around hair,” says Beyoncé.

She’s always been that mane girl. Now, Beyoncé is sharing her sacred hair-care secrets with Cécred. “It has always been a dream of mine to create top-of-the-line, luxury products. I wanted to combine the best scientific advancements with true rituals from different heritages.”

Ancient Grecian Goddess locks? Edgy ‘90s chops? If anyone can pull it off, it’s Queen Bey. See Carine Roitfeld and JAWARA explore the ages in hair and fashion with Beyoncé inside CR Fashion Book 24 Audacious.

“I always wanted an asymmetrical cut in the ’90s, but my mother wouldn’t let me do it. So I’m having the time of my life at this shoot.”

For Beyoncé, the deeply personal and transformative qualities connecting her to hair throughout her life have served as a source of inspiration for the development of Cécred. “Hair is actually the first step when I’m creating tours, films, and albums; being able to see the hairstyles first is what influences the sound, looks…everything.”

From the array of styles worn in her visual album for “Lemonade,” to glorious braids in “Black Is King,” and her elongated honey-blonde mane on stage for the record-breaking RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR, hair is an integral part of Beyoncé’s storytelling canvas.

Since their formative years, hair has been a part of Beyoncé and Tina Knowles’ roots, and Cécred extends this legacy to the world. “It was important to me to find a team of diverse women from different backgrounds who were masterfully the best in their fields to build Cécred with me,” says Beyoncé. “I’m interested in solving real problems.”

For CR Fashion Book’s Spring/Summer 2024 issue, Beyoncé is joined by a cast of models and personalities with a range of hair types displaying the true power of Cécred.

Got this sh*t from Tina.

The sacred connection between Black women and their hair, especially within the dynamics of mother and daughter, is a profound exploration that Beyoncé and Tina Knowles have delved into through the creation of Cécred. “The special connection between mother and daughter is one of the most sacred and I know I am lucky and blessed to have the relationship I have with my mother. What an honor to have her on my squad for life,” says Beyoncé.

Inside CR Fashion Book 24 Audacious, Beyoncé and Tina Knowles discuss how their mother-daughter serves as endless inspiration with Carine Roitfeld.

A little something for the Bey-hive 💇‍♀️

“I want to break down myths and stereotypes when it comes to our hair,” says Beyoncé on creating her hair-care brand Cécred. “Great quality is great quality regardless of who is behind it.”

Beyoncé and Tina Knowles discuss their next frontier with Carine Roitfeld for CR Fashion Book Issue 24 Audacious, CR’s Spring/Summer 2024 issue examining the daring risk-takers redefining the boundaries of their respective industries.

“I’ve done some crazy things with my hair but you can’t live with regrets. Being safe is boring.”

CR Fashion Book Issue 24 examines the theme of audaciousness, a concept that’s been the standard throughout Beyoncé’s extraordinary career. With the launch of Cécred, the superstar now extends her relentless work ethic to a new realm: hair-care. “Great quality is great quality regardless of who is behind it,” she says.

From her Houston, Texas roots, where she honed in on her skills in Tina Knowles’ salon, to hairstyles that have defined her decades-long career, Beyoncé discusses her new era with Carine Roitfeld inside CR’s Spring/Summer 2024 issue.

Icons, they’re just like us.

“When I’m not dressed for an appearance and I’m training or hustling, my go-to outfit is a black hoodie and black sweatpants,” says Beyoncé in conversation with Carine Roitfeld. A preeminent vocalist and influential businesswoman of our time, Queen Bey, much like the rest of us, cherishes the luxury of comfort.

In addition to her highly-anticipated hair-care line Cécred, Carine and Beyoncé discuss go-to outfits, performing in heels, and sneaking into Target for CR Fashion Book Issue 24 Audacious.

“Growing up, I was inspired by my favorite music icons. Those styles told us so much about the women who wore them. I can literally hear the music just by looking at the hairstyles.”

Diana Ross and The Supremes stand as a prominent example of Beyoncé’s personal icons who, like the superstar herself, utilized hair as a form of artistic expression throughout their career. “That’s what we really wanted to channel in this shoot: a symphony of hair styles inspired by iconic hair throughout history.”

In celebration of the release of her hair-care line Cécred, Beyoncé extends her legacy in hair, paying homage to those who paved way before her. See Beyoncé explore hair and style throughout time with Carine Roitfeld and JAWARA for CR’s Spring/Summer 2024 issue.
