Here's Why Beyoncé's Longtime Dance Captain Ashley Everett Isn't on the Renaissance Tour

Klaudia//June 24, 2023
Beyoncé's hit Renaissance Tour is gearing up for its highly anticipated run in the States, but there's one person who fans won't see in formation.

The star’s longtime dancer Ashley Everett has been noticeably absent from the tour, which kicked off in Stockholm on May 10. In fact, it's the first time Everett hasn't been grooving by Queen Bey's side in 17 years.

"I've been dancing my entire life," says Everett, 34. "I was one of the little girls in ballet class who was paying attention and loved it." Then, at age 17, she landed the gig of a lifetime.

"I was dancing at Alvin Ailey and I thought my dance journey was going to take me the modern, contemporary route. I randomly went to an audition and got asked to be a part of some music videos. That led to tour and then it just kept going. It was a dream come true."

Thinking back to her first videos with Beyoncé —"Get Me Bodied" and "Greenlight" off of the star's 2006 B'Day album — "It's so funny," says the dancer. "I remember on set everyone was like 'You guys kind of favor each other, are you cousins?' I was like, 'Not that I know of!'"

But over the years, and after numerous tours together, the two became like family. Beyoncé named her Dance Captain in 2009 and it was Everett who was one of two people by Bey’s side in the hit "Single Ladies" video. Though she was double booked to perform with the Rockettes at the time, "I had to play sick" to be part of the iconic trio in black and white, she says. "I made it work."

Jay-Z and Beyoncé Pop Up for Lunch in the French Riviera During Renaissance Tour

Klaudia//June 20, 2023
Jay-Z and Beyoncé were coolin' out in Cannes at a beachside restaurant ... a nice little lunch date while Bey tours Europe on her "Renaissance" Tour.

TMZ obtained video of Jay and Bey trying to stay under the radar while strolling along a pebble-strewn path as they headed toward a ship on the French Riviera Monday afternoon.

As you can see, Jay seems totally chill in his T-shirt, shorts and sunglasses. Bey, also in summer gear, appears to be in tourist mode with a camera slung over her shoulder. The two are surrounded by security telling fans to keep their distance.

We're told Jay and Bey had earlier arrived by boat to have lunch at La Guérite -- which is known for its seafood, salad and pasta dishes and boasts amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea from its island terrace.

Renaissance World Tour in Amsterdam (June 18)

Klaudia//June 20, 2023
Beyonce performed at the Johan Cruyff Arena stadium in Amsterdam, Netherlands on June 18, 2023. The singer debuted custom IVY PARK from the new collection which is coming soon. After the show, she wrote:

"I started designing this collection over a year ago. I was so engulfed in all things RENAISSANCE and was inspired by Studio 54, Bob Mackie and the disco era. I wanted to do a modern twist using the signature IVY PARK neon and bring disco to the beach in this swim collection. I’m so happy to share this with you and even more proud to launch it for the first time on the RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR. I’m proud to be among the very talented Black designers featured in last night’s show to celebrate Juneteenth."

"In honor of Juneteenth, everything I wore for RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR tonight was created exclusively by Black designers."

Renaissance World Tour Wardrobe Is Fashion Diplomacy At Its Finest

Klaudia//June 17, 2023
At this point, Beyoncé’s Renaissance world tour is part concert, part extended exercise in seeing just how many custom looks one pop star can commission and pack. Queen Bey has upended the typical stadium show model and turned it into an ever-changing format full of surprises and new looks.

Nearly every tour stop so far—there are 51 dates on the books in total, as of right now—has featured a new never-been-seen look designed by some of the biggest names in contemporary fashion. Off-White, Balmain, Brandon Blackwood, and on and on. What you may not have noticed, however, is that Bey often honors the country she’s in by wearing a designer who calls that nation home: Jacquemus for Marseille, France (the designer’s hometown); Alexander McQueen, David Koma, Robert Wun, and Stella McCartney for the singer’s five-night residency in London; custom Fendi in Barcelona that featured designs pulled from Spanish artist Antonio Lopez. It’s the pop star’s version of fashion diplomacy.

There are undoubtedly more custom looks to come from Beyoncé—she has not even made her way through the reported 41 custom pairs of Jimmy Choo shoes she bought along for the ride.

Beyonce surprises hotel fans with VIP tickets to Renaissance World Tour

Klaudia//June 4, 2023
Beyonce has treated hotel staff to some VIP tickets for her sold-out show as a way of saying thank you for "taking care of her".

The 41-year-old performer is currently in the middle of her Renaissance World Tour and has been staying at London's Corinthia Hotel while she performs in the capital.

Beyonce is said to have left a generous tip for her butler, personal chef and concierge, giving them pairs of VIP tickets which cost more than £750 ($930) each.

A source said: "Beyonce is really sweet and very gracious to everyone around her, so always wants to thank the people who are taking care of her.

"They have gone above and beyond to look after her while she has been in the UK, so she treated them to some of the best tickets you can get."

Speaking to The Sun, the source added: "It’s her favourite hotel so she asked for the staff’s emails to personally thank them."

During her stay at the penthouse at the Corinthia, which costs an eyewatering £20,000 per night, Beyonce is said to have asked for her hotel rider to be stocked with bottled water and exotic fruits.

She also asked for a specially prepared vegan mac and cheese, along with salmon, according to the publication.
