As we near the end of another year, it’s important that we remember to give thanks and give back. This past weekend, on December 19th, The Shawn Carter Foundation continued their holiday tradition of giving back to our communities with their annual toy giveaway for Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects and surrounding Brooklyn neighborhoods.
This year, #BEYGood partnered with the SCF to provide an additional 100+ children with specially ordered Black Barbie Dolls from Mattel. The experience was made even more magical for these Brooklyn children when they had the opportunity to become life-sized dolls themselves and have their photos taken, thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Carter’s iconic halloween costumes from earlier this year.
For the second consecutive year, the event was hosted at
Children of Promise, an organization exclusively serving the clinical needs of youth whose parent or parents are incarcerated and an SCF program partner. Overall, more than 1000+ children aged 3 to 16 and their families were provided with toys and an experience they won’t soon forget.
This holiday season, let’s remember to #BEYGood, have fun, and give back to our communities.
